emTags (embedded tags)
Say what now?
Normally, all image information is stored in the database file. However, if you want to give a copy of an image to a mate, why not spare him the trouble of re-tagging the image? Using emTags, you can store the tags in the image itself. If someone imports an emTagged image to pImgDB, all the tags will be automagically entered to the database.
Reading emTags
When you import images to the image database, the default setting is to also look for embedded tags. If it finds any, it is set to insert these after the tags you enter. If you still wish to read emTags from imported images manually, select all the images you wish to read emTags from, then right-click and select emTags -> Read. Select Yes to confirm.
Writing emTags
If you wish to write the tags in your database to the images (maybe in case you destroyed the database some day), select the images you want to write the tags to, right-click, and select emTags -> Write. First off, select Yes to confirm, then select whether you wish to keep other metadata (information from other applications, embedded files etc.). When pImgDB is done writing tags, you will be notified with a popup.
Syncing emTags
This function will combine the tags in your database with the embedded tags (emTags). Select the images you wish to combine tags from, then select emTags -> Synchronize. First off, pImgDB will check whether the images seems to need synchronizing. This check might be a bit off though, as the entire emTags feature has yet to be 100% completed. If you wish to synchronize all the images you have selected, click Yes. Likewise, if you only want to sync the images that pImgDB knows needs syncinc, click No.
Next, you'll be asked whether you wish to keep other metadata in the image, which means embedded files and information stored by other applications. Finally, you're asked how to sort the tags. If you select Yes, then tags from emTags will be placed before the database tags. Also, the emTag names and comments will completely replace those in the database. Selecting No will place the database tags first, and it will replace the names and comments in the emTags with those of the database.
Removing emTags
If you wish to remove emTags from images, simply select the images and right-click one of them. Then, select emTags -> Clear tags. Select Yes to confirm. I don't see why you'd do that though.
Removing metadata
If you wish to clear images from all metadata (this also converts FBinds into regular images), you can do the following. Select all the images you wish to clean, then right-click one of them. Select emTags -> Clear tags, and Yes to confirm.
