Getting started

Getting started with pImgDB is usually quick and simple. However, if you don't feel too comfortable trying and failing on your own, here's a quick guide on getting everything up and running in no time.

Preparations

Downloading

First, we have to download pImgDB. You can download it by pressing [Home] at the top of this site. The download link is the blue diagonally-pointing arrow, located in the middle-top of the site. Click it, then select "Save".

Extracting

Once the file is downloaded, navigate to where you saved it using Windows Explorer ("My computer"), then right-click the file and select "Extract all...". An extraction wizard will appear. Press "Next" until it starts working, then press "Finish" once it has completed. You will now see the folder where pImgDB was extracted. To start pImgDB, simply double-click its icon (the overlapping blue boxes) within this folder.

Desktop shortcut

For easier access in the future, you might wish to create a shortcut on your desktop. Do so by right-clicking its icon and selecting "Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)".

First time run

Select OS

The first time you start pImgDB, you will be met by this dialogue. As the message itself states, you have to determine what kind of Operative System you are using. If you don't know what you have, just try selecting "yes". You can always redo your choice at a later time.

Create database

The final step to begin using pImgDB is creating a database. Press the button titled "Create DB", then enter a name for the database. Confirm your choice by hitting Enter. Press OK, then restart pImgDB again.
